Why there is a Heaven

The next few billion years are going to see a lot of evolution and progress. If Heaven didn't exist, we'd build it. If God didn’t exist we’d evolve into Him. The Human race has nothing better to do than evolve into God and build Heaven. The Bible says we are the Body of Christ and individually members of Him, (1 Corinthians 12:27). And that "speaking the Truth in Love we are to grow up in EVERY WAY into the Head, into Christ." (Ephesians 4:15)  EVERY WAY must include evolution too. Our species is tenacious. We saw birds fly, we learned to build machines that let us fly. We want the Moon, we go there. We want God and Heaven so badly we will shape the Universe to fulfill our desires. It is the goal of science to gain knowledge, preserve species, and prolong life.  Every Doctor trying to prolong life is working towards Eternal Life. Every Scientist is building Heaven.

 There is a "How" to Heaven as well as a "WHY." The "WHY" of Heaven is, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that all who believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." The "How" of Heaven is science. Christ said, "I go to PREPARE a place for you." Heaven is a BUILT place just like Disney World, Manhattan or the International Space Station. Christ is a Carpenter not a Magician. We are the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27) and all Carpenters use their bodies to build things.

Now add to the equation of General Relativity + Evolution, the Human desire for immortality, which is just as real as it can be. It predates Humans. Chimpanzees react very strongly to the death of a companion. The split second that Neanderthal, (probably a lady) refused to accept the finality of death, carried her dead loved one into the furthest, most protected part of their cave and covered him with flowers to fight the stench, Heaven became unavoidable. We started doing something about death, not accepting it but fighting against it. John’s Cube, mentioned in the second to last chapter of Revelation, (Revelation 21:10-27) became unavoidable. If for no other reason, simply self-fulfilling prophesy. John won’t be the first “science fiction writer” or even the last, to have his very detailed “fantasy” turned into reality.

Our tenacious species used to bring down prey by running  it to exhaustion. No other animal can hunt like that. That tenacity will take us to the stars and it will build Heaven, learn everything there is to know, and preserve every single life form for eternity, because a mind really is a terrible thing to waste. So we are working hard to learn how not to waste them.

Yes that includes animal life. Christ said, in Matthew 10:29, "are two sparrows sold for a scent? And yet not one of them will  fall to the ground apart from your Father." They also are carbon based meat computers with ghostable operating systems. The 12th chapter of Job says they have souls. The word often translated, "life" there is the Hebrew word, "Nephesh."  This is the exact same Hebrew word that is used in Genesis 2:7 where it describes God blowing the Nephesh into Adam and making him a living Nephesh. Of course Hebrew words had to double and triple duty, but common sense and compassion also tells you animals go to Heaven. If they did not, how could it be paradise?  Science is working to preserve the grand diversity of Life.  Over the next ten to 15 billion years, our tenacious species succeeds.

Tell me why would we NOT want to create something as beautiful as the following? Revelation 21:10-21:27 "and he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper. It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

 The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall. The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal. And he measured its wall, seventy-two yards, according to human measurements, which are also angelic measurements.

The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

 The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. John won't be the first 'science fiction writer" or the last to have his fictional dream brought to life.  "What one man can conceive of another man can do." As much as we desire to live forever, it is only a matter of time and we have plenty of that.

 How Souls are Immortal.

It may be very true that all we are, are carbon based, “meat” computers  But that  is perfectly ok. Every sophisticated computer must have an operating system.  Any operating system can be “ghosted” over to a better hardware system when the technology exists.  The computer I am typing on had this happen a few months ago. I needed a bigger, faster hard drive with more memory. I didn’t want to lose the operating system I had. I had all my stuff on it, had spent hours uploading and downloading programs to it. I purchased a better hard drive and paid my friend Ed twenty bucks to use a program to “ghost” my beloved operating system over to the new drive.

 Why Jesus is Lord.

 The Galilee Carpenter is Lord for exactly the reason the Bible says He is, simply because we want Him to be, and because, just as He said Himself, His terrible death, “drew all men to Himself.” (John 12:32).  Revelation 5:12 says the Lamb is worthy because of His sacrifice.  Jesus of Nazareth earned His position because of what He did, and what happened to Him. It is not magic that got Him where He is, but sacrifice and the decision of others to make Him so.

 His soul is every bit as ghostable as any other organic operating system. Because of General Relativity and circular time He is just as reachable as the very first being that did have an operating system and the very last one. Someone has to be the Head of Heaven.  It might as well be the Carpenter.  We can tell from reading both their words that the Man from Galilee wanted His Kingdom, and Buddha (the only other possible candidate) did not. Buddha said, “I am not a god, but awake. (Enlightened).”  Christ said, "I am the Way, the truth and the Light and no one gets to the Father except through Me." "Before Moses was, 'I Am.'" and "I Am the Resurrection and the Life." "I Am" is what God called Himself when He first spoke to Moses on the top of the mountain.    I believe neither Buddha, nor Jesus are liars. Both are exactly who they said they are. Buddha is certainly enlightened for he was a very wise man, but Jesus is the way to the Father.

    Buddha taught ALL desire was bad. That would include the desire to be Lord of the Universe, obviously. But Christ taught only the desire to sexually harm a woman is bad. We can also assume desire to sin is bad, and a sin itself, but this is implied, not directly stated by His teachings. So, if they each follow their own teachings, Christ can be God, and Buddha cannot desire that. 

he Bible is true if for no other reason than self fulfilling prophesy. Much of the Human race wants Jesus to be God and Leader of Humanity.  Many people, who do not believe Christ is God, wish Him to be. That included the Atheist Arthur C   Clarke and the Deist Sir Albert Einstein. Those that don’t, I find, have never actually read His words for themselves. When we can make Him be who He wants to be, we will do so. We Humans can end up with any kind of Universe we want.  Because of curving space/time, the Galilee Carpenter is  already Lord, Heaven is Built, and He has His Kingdom.

Why We Must Be Born Again

 Every operating system also must be saved by is Maker, and every operating system must be cleaned up of viruses and spy ware before it joins a network, or else even a single spy ware or virus will permute and damage the whole network.

Like all Great Leaders, the Buck stops with Christ. He took responsibility for all our faults Himself, during His Earthly life, during His death on the cross and forever. He knew we could not debug ourselves. God is more complex than us, not less. He who both created us and grows out of us has feelings and desires just as we do. Our silly and tragic bugs frustrate Him just as the bugs of any Programmer's creation frustrate the Programmer. But He turned His frustration inward. He did not take it out on us. That’s what the cross was all about. It was as if He smashed His fist down on His desk and hurt his own hand instead of smashing the work He was working on. It was brutal, but it got our attention and the Human race has never been so cruel ever again. From that moment on, where ever Christ’s Network spread, gradually, oh so slowly, Human sacrifice stopped, the hungry got fed and the sick got medical treatment, not perfectly yet by any means, but there is a start! Our world has flaws yet, such terrible flaws! But slowly progress is being made in every area. God is far from finished with us. In the meantime, when you get mad at God or each other, (and yes you do and will, all Humans do), remember Christ took responsibility for every last fault and punished Himself far harder than you ever would for every single one of them.  

That is why we must invite the Christ to come into our minds and gradually clean them up and debug them, before we can be allowed into Heaven. That is called being, “born again.” (John 3:3) “Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.

No one is without imperfections. You can be old fashioned and call them sins or new fashioned and call them hang ups, bad habits and/or emotional baggage, but whatever you call them, they have to be eliminated before we go to Heaven, or they’d soon mess the entire place up. In order to start the process of becoming fit for Heaven, you have to WANT to change. That does not mean you CAN change, but it does mean you have to WANT to and have to admit that to Christ and ask for His help in doing so. That is called repentance.  If you ask God to change you, and He does not right away, quit worrying. He will at the time of His choosing, when you are ready and able. He knows you better than you know yourself. In the meantime be tolerant of other being’s faults. God is not through with them yet either.

People miss Heaven because they try to ask Christ to come in and indwell them, but do not really want to change. God can see into the deepest parts of our minds, and an insincere request will not be answered. They want God but do not want to pay the price for Him, which is to choose to change.

Debugging takes a very long time. As the bumper sticker says, “Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.” It is fairly painless. Every seven years every cell in our body is replaced, and we don’t even notice it. In just the same gradual, mostly painless way we slowly improve after giving God permission to do so.
